Numerology Compatibility Calculator
Numerology compatibility compares the life path numbers of two people, worked out from their birth dates, to see how their basic temperaments and needs tend to fit together. Enter two birth dates. You see both life path numbers at once, and how numerology reads the pair.

How does numerology compatibility work?
Most numerologists start a compatibility reading with the life path number, because it comes from the full birth date and is read as the main theme of a person's life. Each partner's number is calculated the same way: reduce the month, the day and the year to a single digit or master number, add them, and reduce again.
The two numbers are then compared. There is no single agreed table of which numbers match, and different authors publish different lists. We do not invent a ranking. Instead, we use one old and simple rule that many classic numerology books share and show you exactly what it says.
What rule does this calculator use?
Classic numerology divides the numbers into odd and even. Odd numbers, 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9, are described as active and outward. Even numbers, 2, 4, 6 and 8, are described as receptive and steadying. Two odd numbers tend to share pace and appetite for change, two even numbers tend to share a wish for stability, and one of each tends to complement the other.
Master numbers count by their base digit for this comparison, so 11 counts as 2, 22 as 4 and 33 as 6. All three are even. If both people have the same life path, the calculator says so, because shared numbers come with their own pattern.
| Life path | Odd or even | Theme in relationships |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Odd | Leads, needs room for their own direction |
| 2 | Even | Attentive, needs effort returned |
| 3 | Odd | Expressive, needs to feel heard |
| 4 | Even | Loyal, needs plans that happen |
| 5 | Odd | Curious, needs freedom |
| 6 | Even | Caring, needs care in return |
| 7 | Odd | Thoughtful, needs time alone |
| 8 | Even | Driven, needs respect for goals |
| 9 | Odd | Idealistic, needs shared values |
| 11 | Even (base 2) | Sensitive, needs gentleness |
| 22 | Even (base 4) | Builder, needs a shared long view |
| 33 | Even (base 6) | Devoted, needs to be looked after too |
How the numerology compatibility calculator works: rules and sources
Where numerologists disagree, we pick one rule and say which. These are the rules behind your number:
| Rule | Value we use | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Rule | Odd numbers read as active, even numbers as receptive | One stated rule from classic numerology; other schools use different tables |
| Master numbers | Counted by their base digit (11 as 2, 22 as 4, 33 as 6) | Our convention for this comparison |
| Scores | No percentage | No traditional method produces one |
Which life path numbers are compatible?
By the odd and even rule, every pairing has a recognizable texture rather than a pass or fail. Two odd numbers, such as 1 and 5, often enjoy an active, adventurous pace. Two even numbers, such as 2 and 8, often build something steady. An odd and an even number, such as 3 and 6, often balance each other, one starting things and the other carrying them through.
Other systems give other answers. Some authors pair numbers by groups of three, others by the qualities of each number. If you have read that your numbers clash, it helps to know that numerologists do not agree on this, and that the life path is only one number out of several.
A worked example
Take two birth dates: April 29, 1969 and July 15, 1984. For the first, April is 4, the 29th reduces to 11 and stays a master number, and 1969 adds up to 25, then 7. Four plus 11 plus 7 is 22, a master number. For the second, July is 7, the 15th reduces to 6, and 1984 adds up to 22, which stays. Seven plus 6 plus 22 is 35, which reduces to 8.
So the pair is life path 22 and life path 8. Both are even (22 counts as 4), and the calculator describes them as two steadying numbers that tend to build a calm, reliable base together. You can check each number with the life path calculator.
What about other numbers?
A fuller numerology comparison also looks at the expression and soul urge numbers from both full birth names. The soul urge in particular is read as what each person wants deep down, so a match there can matter as much as the life path. You can find yours with the soul urge number calculator.
If you know both birth times and places, astrology offers a more detailed comparison. The birth chart compatibility calculator compares Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars and more, chart to chart.
How to use the result
Use the comparison as a way to talk about needs and habits, not as a verdict. If one of you is a 5 who needs variety and the other a 4 who needs plans, the result does not say you are wrong for each other. It names a difference worth discussing.
Numerology is a tradition of interpretation, offered here for entertainment and reflection. It does not predict whether a relationship will last.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
What life path numbers are compatible?
Numerologists do not agree on one list. By the classic odd and even rule we use, two odd numbers share pace, two even numbers share steadiness, and an odd with an even number complement each other.
How do I check numerology compatibility by date of birth?
Enter both birth dates in the calculator above. It works out both life path numbers, shows the arithmetic in the life path calculator, and explains how the pair is read.
Are master numbers compatible with other numbers?
For this comparison a master number counts by its base digit: 11 as 2, 22 as 4 and 33 as 6. It keeps its own meaning in each person's reading.
What if we have the same life path number?
Sharing a number usually means you understand each other quickly, and that the same habits meet twice. It helps to agree early on who handles what.
Is numerology compatibility accurate?
The arithmetic is exact, but the meanings are tradition and interpretation. Use the result as a conversation starter, not as a prediction.
