Who is responsible
Matthias Kupka, Passeig de Joan de Borbó 36, 08003 Barcelona, Spain, email hello@nymelia.com. We are the controller of your personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What we collect
- Birth data you enter into a calculator: date of birth, and if you choose, time and place of birth.
- Your name, if you enter it for a numerology calculation.
- Your first name and email address, when you open the full result of a calculator or buy a reading, together with the data you entered in the calculator so we can send you a link back to your result.
- Your feedback, if you answer "Does this sound like you?" or "Was your reading helpful?": the answer (Yes, Partly or No), an optional sentence and, only if you tick the box, your first name. No email address and no birth data are stored with it.
- Order details if you buy a reading: what you bought, when, and the payment status. Card details are handled by the payment provider, not by us.
- Usage data: pages visited, calculators used, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
- If you came from an ad: the ad click identifier (for example Google's gclid) and the campaign tags in the link (UTM). If you leave your email, we store them with it, so we can tell which ad led to a sign-up or a purchase.
Why we use it
- To calculate and show your result. Calculations run in your browser and are not stored. Your inputs are kept in the part of the page address after the # sign, so reload and the back button keep your result. That part of the address is never sent to our server; it stays in your browser history until you clear it, and anyone you share the link with sees the inputs. Our analytics receive page addresses without that part.
- To improve the calculators and to show real feedback: answers are counted per calculator. A sentence is published only if you gave permission, word for word, with your first name and the date. Counts are shown only from 30 answers, with the number of answers and the date.
- To send you the link to your result, the reminder that comes with it (for example when your personal year changes) or the reading you bought, and, if you sign up for them, our newsletter or your weekly horoscope. You can unsubscribe from every email with one click. We use your first name to greet you in those emails.
- To process and document purchases and refunds.
- To understand which pages and calculators are used, so we can improve them.
- To measure our advertising: which ads lead to a sign-up or a purchase. This starts with your first page view. You can switch it off at any time: in the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland in our banner, everywhere under "Your privacy choices" at the bottom of every page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, advertising measurement stays off.
Legal bases
We process data to perform a contract with you (delivering a result or reading), based on your consent (marketing emails), to meet legal obligations (tax records) and based on our legitimate interest in running and improving the site and in measuring our advertising (Google Analytics, Google Ads). You can object to the measurement at any time with "Reject all" or under "Your privacy choices".
Service providers
We use these providers. Hosting, email, payments and product analytics process data only on our behalf. Google and Meta process advertising data under their data processing terms for advertisers.
- Hosting: Vercel Inc., USA
- Email delivery and contact storage: Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France)
- Payments: Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd., Ireland)
- Product analytics: PostHog Inc., USA, without cookies
- Web analytics: Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited, Ireland, and Google LLC, USA), as described under "Cookies and similar tools"
- Advertising measurement: Google Ads (same Google companies). If you enter your email, your browser turns it into a one-way encrypted code (SHA-256) before it is sent to Google, which uses it only to match your visit to an ad click.
- Meta pixel (Facebook and Instagram advertising measurement): not active yet; once it is, it follows the same rules as Google Ads
International transfers
Some providers are based in or process data in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on each provider's certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or, where a provider is not certified, on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
How long we keep data
Calculator inputs that are not tied to an email are not stored. Feedback is kept until you ask us to delete it; write to us with the date and the sentence. Lead data, including the ad click identifier stored with it, is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Purchase records are kept for six years, as Spanish commercial and tax law requires. Analytics data is kept for up to 12 months.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see the data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its use, and receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. You can also complain to a data protection authority.
If you live in California or another US state with a consumer privacy law, such as the CCPA, you have similar rights: to know what we collect, to have it deleted, to correct it and to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal data. We do share data with Google (and later Meta) to measure our ads. You can opt out of this under "Your privacy choices" at the bottom of every page, and we treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as an opt-out. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
To use any of these rights, write to hello@nymelia.com.
Cookies and similar tools
Our product analytics (PostHog) run without cookies and without storing anything on your device. Google Analytics and Google Ads load with your first page view and set their cookies. If you choose "Reject all" in our banner or switch them off under "Your privacy choices", we delete these cookies and Google receives from then on only signals without cookies or identifiers. You can change your choice at any time under "Your privacy choices" at the bottom of every page. Page addresses sent to Google never include the part after the # sign, where your calculator inputs are kept.
What we store on your device:
- nymelia_consent (local storage, necessary): your privacy choice, until you clear your browser data.
- nymelia_click (session storage, unless you switched advertising off): the ad click identifier of this visit, deleted when you close the tab.
- _ga and _ga_QZ3KN300EE (cookies, Google Analytics, unless you switched analytics off): tell visits apart, up to 2 years.
- _gcl_au and other _gcl cookies (cookies, Google Ads, unless you switched advertising off): link a sign-up or purchase to an ad click, up to 90 days.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change. Last updated: October 14, 2026.
