The Moon today

Moon in Capricorn · your 1st house

Astrologers read a Moon in the 1st house as a fresh start in miniature. You may feel more like yourself than usual, and a little more impulsive too, so give your instincts a say before you second-guess them.

  • starting something small
  • a new haircut
  • time for your own goals

Today's sky for Capricorn

With no planets meeting at exact angles, today is shaped mostly by the Moon. Astrologers treat days like this as background days, fine for catching up and checking in with yourself.

Retrograde right now: Venus in Scorpio, your 11th house of friends and groups, Saturn in Aries, your 4th house of home and family, Uranus in Gemini, your 6th house of work and routines and Neptune in Aries, your 4th house of home and family. Astrologers read those areas as better for review than for new starts.

About the Capricorn horoscope

Counting from Capricorn, Aquarius is the 2nd house of income, Aries the 4th house of home and family, Taurus the 5th house of pleasure and romance, Cancer the 7th house of partnership and Libra the 10th house of career. Gemini, your 6th house, covers routines and the daily workload. A Moon in Taurus often lets Capricorn enjoy the day a bit more, while a Moon in Libra tends to bring goals and status into focus.

Saturn rules Capricorn and moves slowly, spending about two and a half years in a sign. It turns retrograde for around four and a half months each year. Its exact aspects tend to mark the days when structure, responsibility and patience are the theme, and its stations are worth noting in whatever house they fall.

Capricorn is a cardinal earth sign, so slow planets in Aries, Cancer and Libra make tense angles to your Sun. Your birthday season runs from around December 22 to January 19.
